The Author

Anissa D. Blair is a native of North Carolina. Her love for books and writing was cultivated at a young age. As an only child, her imagination became her best friend, and in difficult times it was her confidante. She started writing poems that later progressed to short stories. In 2000, she wrote and copyrighted her first novel, Your Husband My Man, and began to submit her work to publishers. After being turned down more times than she cared to count, Anissa put the book away and went on with living her life. By 2018, realizing that something was missing, she returned to her passion and re-visited her novel. In 2019, choosing to have faith in God, she jumped without a safety net and quit her job as an Executive Assistant with a Fortune 500 company and self-published her novel where it has received 4.5 stars on Amazon. Since making this drastic move, Anissa hasn't looked back. She is now a contributing writer with a national news/entertainment outlet, RollingOut, with her page entitled "Straight No Chaser," representing everyday women just trying to cope with life. Additionally, providing weekly empowerment/motivational columns on the online platform, Beautiful Brown Girls (BBG). With her belief that your experiences directly affect your relationship, she created a YouTube channel with her husband entitled, Blended In Love, which focuses on having a healthy and loving relationship without losing who you are in the process. She recently completed her second debuting novel, Invisible Lives that deals with homosexuality, eating disorder, and depression, set to be released in April 2021. In her spare time, she values the importance of being a wife and mother of three. Her motto, "life's a journey; let's laugh together!"
