The Author

nora oz is a Poetess from Brooklyn, NY who has been writing since the age of 13. She is the co-creator and co-host of InterBoro Mic, a variety show dedicated to highlighting all spoken arts including music, comedy and of course poetry. When nora isn't hosting her own events, she can often be spotted performing at various venues around the city. Her poetry is provocative, mindful, and passionate and is influenced by the transparency of Nikki Giovanni, the storytelling of Stephen King and the passion of Amiri Baraka. She writes on social justice, the condition of the African American woman, family, and whimsical fancies. nora also enjoys whetting palates and stroking imaginations with her erotic poetry. She takes pride in sharing her story and that of her community through spoken word. She encourages the same pride in her students and community as a member of the Professorial team at Poetix University, the Program Associate at Dorill Initiative, and part of the administration team of Black Greek Poets.
