Patch management is important to ensure safety, security, and operational integrity of industrial control products and systems. We encourage you to update your Rockwell Software with any new software patches to keep it current.
The new Studio 5000 Logix Designer version 34 release allows support for the latest hardware, while giving customers an improved download and online experience that enhances the export of project-simultaneous activity. Key enhancements include:
Productivity enhancements like improved download performance are the biggest value to the Studio 5000 Logix Designer V34 experience. In coordination between Logix Designer application development and FactoryTalk Linx, users will notice that the reduction of download times is significant. These online enhancements are delivered by combined advances in Studio 5000 Logix Designer V34 and FactoryTalk Linx 6.30. Additionally, online import and export of project activity, including comments and documentation made by others without first going offline with the controller are now available.
To get an activation for a computer that doesn't have Internet access, take the disconnected computers data file to a computer with Internet access and then use that computer to download an activation to a removable storage device.
ThinManager is the global leader in the automation industry that provides full-feature centralized thin client and terminal server management. Our unique software platform offers trendsetting, centralized management solutions for a modern industrial environment.
enables direct bi-directional data exchange between enterprise systems like Microsoft SQL databases and ControlLogix PLCs. tManager is a ControlLogix module inserted directly into the PLC chassis. tManager eliminates a PC server, software application, or scripting sometimes used to orchestrate transactions between the PLC and SQL database. Using tManager to handle transactions instead of VB scripting or FactoryTalk Transaction Manager has the advantage of eliminating a server, eliminating software, increasing transaction speed, and decreasing project risk.
tManager allows downloading recipes and manufacturing instructions into the controller or uploading production tags for track and trace or monitoring in the database. Microsoft SQL databases are commonly used between MES applications and the production line.

The new Studio 5000 Logix Designer version 34 release allows support for the latest hardware, while giving customers an improved download and online experience that enhances the export of project-simultaneous activity. Portfolio alignment with FactoryTalk Linx and CIP Security showcases the combined developments and applications in the latest version. Developments in the FactoryTalk Linx platform provide an opportunity to reduce unproductive time and improve system efficiency. CIP Security is now supported in standard and safety platforms, including ControlLogix 5580 controllers, GuardLogix 5580 controllers, CompactLogix 5380 controllers and Compact GuardLogix 5380 controllers. V34 also adds new data types configured as Time types. Created Time data types reduce the manual formatting of integers or Add-On Instructions to represent time and allow rapid and repeatable formats for time in projects.ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Compact GuardLogix, Factory Talk, FactoryTalk Linx, Studio 5000, Studio 5000 Logix Designer and are trademarks of Rockwell Automation Inc.
The Internet speed is very good. The ping time to PLC is 70-80 ms via eCatycher, but when they are trying to get online, upload program and download program from/to the PLC, it is very slow in Studio5000
We just wanted to know why changing it to TCP, has an affect on ]downloading/uploading the PLC program Do you reckon it is the server connected to the WAN port Because for 4G connection, there is less restriction on the WAN side.

Exploiting this flaw enables an attacker to remotely connect to almost any of the company's Logix programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and upload malicious code, download information from the PLC, or install new firmware.
The vulnerability lies in the fact that Studio 5000 Logix Designer software may allow a secret cryptographic key to be discovered. This key is used to verify communication between Rockwell Logix controllers and their engineering stations. If successfully exploited, this vulnerability could allow a remote, unauthenticated attacker to bypass this verification mechanism and connect to Logix controllers.
An attacker who is able to extract the secret key would be able to authenticate to any Rockwell Logix controller. These secret keys digitally sign all communication with the Rockwell PLCs; the PLCs verify the signature and authorize communication between it and the Rockwell engineering software. An attacker with this key could mimic a workstation and therefore be able to manipulate configurations or code running on the PLC (upload/download logic), and directly impact a manufacturing process. 1e1e36bf2d
